What is U.S. Dollars to Euro Spot Exchange Rate?

The U.S. dollar / euro exchange rate (quoted as dollars per one euro, EUR/USD) is the noon-buying reference rate published each U.S. business day by the Federal Reserve Board in its H.10 release, sourced from indicative interbank-market quotes. EUR/USD is the most heavily traded currency pair in the world, accounting for roughly a quarter of all daily turnover in the $7.5-trillion-per-day global foreign-exchange market surveyed by the BIS. It is the cleanest single read on relative U.S.-euro-area monetary policy: the rate strengthens for the dollar (EUR/USD falls) when the Fed is tighter than the ECB, and weakens when the policy gap reverses. The euro was introduced in accounting form on January 1, 1999 at $1.1747 and in physical currency on January 1, 2002. EUR/USD peaked at $1.6010 in July 2008 before the global financial crisis and fell below parity for the first time in twenty years in July 2022, bottoming near $0.9596 during the European energy shock.
